This is the description from the brochure which will accompany this mug: "This special edition Herend beer mug is exquisitely emblazoned with the famous "Rothschild Bird Blue Scale" featuring several species of small European field and mountain birds.  The "Rothschild Bird" motif was created in 1850 especially for hte wealthy Rothschild family who exerted tremendous influence in nineteenth century Europe and is prized as one of Herend's oldest patterns.  The harmonious blending of this noble design with the distinctive Herend Ecailles crest pattern in the rococo style expresses a simple, but classical elegance in this beer mug. Each design is a work of art painstakingly handpainted by five of Herend's team of twenty master painters.  These five masters initially prduced a total of twelve designs for the Herend beer mug.  The two patterns featured were selected because they best harmonized with the shape of the mug.  This is a true masterpiece, the deft strokes, the delicate hues, the attention to detail all beautifully touched off with 24-carat gold!
