Description
Franklin Mint Bicentennial Silver Bowl Limited Edition 385/750 You are looking at a spectacular 150 troy ounce Solid Sterling Silver Franklin Mint Bicentennial Bowl. These incredible bowls were produced in 1976 to commemorate the United States of Americas' Bicentennial. Only 750 of these were made and the first was gifted to the US and delivered to President Gerald Ford during the celebration that year. This particular bowl has been wonderfully cared for and comes complete with original display box which is velvet-lined, a certificate of authenticity from July 4th 1976, and a specification sheet with picture. The exterior of the bowl appears immaculate with no scratches, scuffs, dents, or nicks whatsoever. The 24kt gold wash inside of bowl is complete - no wear spots at all - there are a very few light whisp-like scratches that have appeared through light polishing (my guess). The rim of the bowl shows some areas of slight metal corrosion between the rim and the beginning of the 24kt gold wash - nothing to noticeable, but check pictures for visual understanding. 150 ounces of sterling silver, this jaw-dropping punch bowl size commemorative piece is a whopping 14 inches in diameter and approximately 9 inches high. This is really big ... and heavy. This is the complete package available to Franklin Mint collectors, by invitation only. This limited edition sold for $3000.00 each in 1976! There have been very few available since then. Now is your chance to aquire an extremely rare sterling silver art piece for that someone special in your life or perhaps a fabulous edition to your own collection. from Franklin Mint: The largest and heaviest silver bowl ever issued by the Franklin Mint, this bowl is an original limitied edition created for the Bicentennial celebration in 1976. Crafted from over 150 ounces of solid Sterling Silver and lined with 24kt gold, the ornate work around the bowl shows vignettes of 200 years of American history.
