Description
Hemmingway Sulfide Paperweight Cristalleries d'albert This item comes with Original Display Box Original outer box, also a Lighted Display Base Marked CR. Albret-France on the bottom. The sulfide image is made from a sculpture by Gilbert Poillerat and produced by the Cristalleries dā Albret, France. It has a 1/2" thick Ruby base and the top is clear with 7 oval concave side windows and a round concave top. This design allows one to see 3 or 4 images at once, depending on the viewing angle. The sculpture is marked Hemingway CA GP 1969.ā The paperweight measures 1-5/8" Tall x 2-7/8" at Base x 2" at Top window . There are no chips or scratches. This is a beautiful Paperweight. The wood base is Varnished to a gloss finish with 1/4" raised rubber feet, and reflective cavity to reflect light up wards. Base comes with Light bulb and 6' cord. Ready to use immediately. He was part of the 1920s expatriate community in Paris, and one of the veterans of World War One later known as "the Lost Generation." Hemingway's distinctive writing style is characterized by economy and understatement, and had a significant influence on the development of twentieth-century fiction writing.
