In shades of black, red, and white, it features the Chinese character for joy. It\'s 20" x 14" x 2.5". Vietnamese villagers create each lacquer piece through a traditional process which has been practiced for over 2000 years has changed very little over the centuries. Each piece is made from spun bamboo and then lacquered, dried, and sanded at least 12 times. Lacquer is a natural product derived from a native Vietnamese tree. Tiny pieces of eggshell are inlayed to create unique designs. This tray has been handcrafted with skill and patience, taking up to 2 months to complete.While a work of art in it\'s own right, you may choose to use this lovely tray for dry food.
